  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup water
  • 2 tbsps extra virgin olive oil
  • 4 g instant yeast for savory dishes
  • 5 oz tomato sauce
  • 1 3/4 oz mozzarella for pizza
  • salt (to taste)
  • oregano (to taste)

Tools

  • Basin
  • Skillet
  • Rolling Pin
  • Knife
  • Small Bowl
  • Spoon

Steps

  • First, place the flour, water, oil, yeast, and salt in a basin and mix first with a spoon, then with your hands until the dough is smooth and uniform.

Let the dough rest for fifteen minutes covered with a cloth. Meanwhile, cut the mozzarella for pizza into very small cubes. Then take the dough and divide it into six smaller pieces.

    preparation of the flatbread dough
  • Form balls and roll them out to a thickness of about 1/4 inch with a rolling pin. Place a little mozzarella in the center, close well to form balls, and flatten slightly with your hands.

form balls and place mozzarella pieces in the center
  • Then heat a non-stick skillet and cook the flatbreads for 3 or 4 minutes on low heat with a lid. Then, flip them with a spatula and spread one tablespoon of tomato sauce. Adjust the salt, sprinkle generously with oregano, and finish cooking for another 3 or 4 minutes on low heat, always covering with the lid. Using the lid is very important because it helps concentrate the heat in the pot and therefore cook the flatbreads inside.
