Christmas Puff Pastry Baskets, a very simple and tasty appetizer, perfect to bring to the table during the Christmas holidays. The recipe is very simple, and to make it, you will only need a roll of puff pastry and a pinch of imagination according to your taste. For this recipe, I couldn’t resist using robiola cheese and smoked salmon, the king of the table during the holidays. Of course, you can substitute both ingredients with others that you like more. Essential, of course, are the dill and pink pepper to flavor the spreadable cheese and for decoration. I made these baskets by cutting stars from the puff pastry with a cookie cutter. Then, I placed them on the bottom of an inverted muffin tin slightly greased with oil. Once baked in the oven and cooled, they will be ready to be filled and stuffed. Simple, scenic, and quick to prepare, these savory-filled Christmas puff pastry baskets will be ready in a click!

Ingredients
- 1 roll puff pastry
- 7 oz oz robiola cheese
- 7 oz oz smoked salmon
- extra virgin olive oil (as needed to grease the mold)
- dill (as needed)
- salt (as needed)
- pepper (as needed)
- pink pepper (as needed)
Tools
- Muffin Tin for 12 pieces
- Bowl
- Cutting Board
- Knife
- Cutter star-shaped 4 inches
Steps
First, unroll the puff pastry and cut out circles with a cookie cutter 4 inches in diameter. It must be larger than the diameter of the muffin mold. Turn the muffin tin upside down and grease the surface of the molds well with oil. Then place the puff pastry circles, making them adhere well to the mold. Prick the surface with the tines of a fork and brush the surface of the puff pastry with oil. Bake the baskets in a preheated oven at 350°F (180°C) with fan function for 25 minutes, or until they are golden brown.
Once the cooking time has elapsed, remove them from the oven and let them cool so that you can remove them from the mold without burning yourself. In the meantime, work the robiola cheese with the chopped dill, salt, and pepper until you obtain a smooth and homogeneous cream. Chop the salmon, add it to the cream, and mix. Then transfer to a piping bag with a star nozzle, if you have one; otherwise, cut the tip of the piping bag and use it this way. Then fill the baskets with the cream cheese and smoked salmon.
Decorate the surface with pink pepper and some sprigs of dill and serve on the table.
