Super Soft Yogurt Danubio with Nutella

A deliciously sweet leavened bread, the super soft yogurt danubio with Nutella is an irresistible way to start the day, but not only that. Perfect for dipping in coffee after lunch or dinner, or ideal for breaking up the afternoon with an ultra-soft treat. I made it with sourdough, but of course, you can also prepare it with yeast. Just make a dough with 10 g of yeast, 50 ml of lightly sweetened water, and 100 g of flour. When the dough has doubled in volume, use it instead of the sourdough.

Let’s get to work and prepare the super soft yogurt danubio with Nutella.

  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Cost: Economical
  • Rest time: 6 Hours
  • Preparation time: 30 Minutes
  • Cooking time: 25 Minutes
  • Portions: 6 people
  • Cuisine: Italian

Ingredients

  • 5 oz sourdough
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 7 oz milk
  • 3.5 oz plain yogurt
  • 5 tbsp butter
  • 0.4 cups sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 7 oz Nutella
  • 2 tbsp milk (for brushing)

Tools

  • 1 Mixer
  • 1 Springform Pan
  • 1 Brush

Preparation

  • Mix the sourdough (instructions for making it with yeast are in the introduction) with the flour and milk. Add the yogurt and sugar, and once absorbed, finish with butter and salt. Work until you have a smooth and elastic dough, which you let rise in a bowl covered with a cloth until it becomes nice and fluffy. Meanwhile, place spoonfuls of Nutella on parchment paper and put them in the freezer.

  • Deflate the dough, take pieces of dough, and spread them between your hands to form a disc. Place a spoonful of frozen Nutella in the center and close to form well-sealed balls that you let rise in a cake pan. Let them rise again until they are well puffed.

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F, static, and bake after brushing the balls with milk or melted butter, cooking for about 25 minutes.
