Today I had a great craving for donuts, but I was full of things to do and I got late. So, I prepared the quick amusement park donuts and boy, they were tasty. They are prepared in no time and remain so soft! Rolled in classic granulated sugar, they were gone in a flash so that I promised myself to prepare a double batch next time!

- 1 pinch salt

Tools for preparing quick amusement park donuts

Steps for preparing quick amusement park donuts
In a bowl, gather the sifted flour. Add sugar, wine (I used a slightly sparkling one, but still wine is fine too), and milk. Start mixing with a spoon. Add the orange zest, sifted baking powder, salt, and oil, mixing with the spoon. Turn it out onto a work surface and knead by hand, adding a bit of flour if it’s too sticky. Cover with the bowl and let rest for 10 minutes.
Heat the oil. Divide the dough into 6 parts and flatten them with your hands, forming a disc shape by flattening well in the center and keeping the edges a bit thicker.
Check if the oil is ready with a toothpick (it should bubble around it). Fry one donut at a time, then roll it in sugar on parchment paper.
Storage
The donuts can be stored for a couple of days well covered.
