Chocolate Glazed Christmas Trees

White Chocolate Glazed Christmas Trees

If you’ve already prepared my cinnamon and oatmeal shortcrust pastry, these cookies will be even easier: same fragrances, same crispness, but with an extra touch thanks to the white chocolate coating that creates a “snow” effect perfect for the holidays. The trees are ideal as edible place cards, to hang on the tree, or to pack for small homemade gifts. The contrast between the spiced pastry and the sweetness of the white chocolate makes them irresistible, and you can decorate them with whatever you prefer: nut sprinkles, sugar decorations, or leave them simple.

I recommend getting some large cookie cutters so that the snow effect on the trees is truly scenic, and among the tools, I’ll indicate the ones I used.

  • 1 egg (medium)
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • orange zest
  • 1 pinch fine salt
  • 4.2 oz white chocolate
  • glittery sugars
  • pistachio sprinkles

Tools

  • Cookie Cutter
  • Baking Mats
  • Rolling Pins for dough thickness

Steps

Prepare the Christmas shortcrust pastry and, after resting in the fridge, roll it out to a thickness of about 1/8 inch.

  • Cut out the cookies with the cutter, place them on the baking sheet lined with a perforated mat or parchment paper, and bake them at 320°F for about 13/15 minutes. Let them cool.

  • Melt the chocolate in a bain-marie, let it cool slightly, then take the cookies and glaze the top with a light hand movement.

  • Move the glazed trees onto the mat or parchment paper as you glaze them.

  • Before the chocolate solidifies, decorate your trees.

  • Let the cookies dry completely before storing them in a box.

Tips:

Arrange the white chocolate glazed Christmas trees in transparent bags, close them with a red or gold ribbon, and gift them to your friends; they will greatly appreciate it.

You can also glaze them green using the glaze from pistachio truffles and decorate them with white sugar stars.
