Halloween brownies are the spooky version of classic American brownies, perfect to prepare in these days leading up to the scariest holiday of the year.
The ingredients and the procedure to prepare them are the same as the classic ones, as well as the fudgy consistency inside and the crispy crust. What makes them suitable for the Halloween party is the decoration made with melted white chocolate used to draw a web and the addition of a skull-shaped chocolate. You can choose to make these at home using a mold and melted chocolate or purchase them as I did.
Now take a minute to read the recipe and then let’s cook and eat!!

Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 0.5 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 4 eggs (at room temperature)
- 0.75 cup brown sugar
- 7 oz 50% dark chocolate
- 0.75 cup butter
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 tsp vanilla extract (or 1 packet of vanillin)
- 1 bar white chocolate
- 9 chocolates (skull-shaped)
Tools
- 1 Food Scale
- 1 Knife
- 1 Bowl
- 1 Electric Whisk
- 1 Sieve
- 1 Spatula
- Parchment Paper
- 1 Baking Pan 10×10
- 1 Cooling Rack
- 1 Piping Bag
- 1 Small Bowl
- 1 Hand Whisk
Steps
To make the Halloween brownies, first cut the dark chocolate into pieces.
Gather the chocolate and butter pieces in a saucepan and melt them over low heat, stirring with a hand whisk.
Collect the eggs along with the brown sugar and a pinch of salt in a bowl, and using an electric whisk, whip the eggs until fluffy.
Then add, in order, the sifted cocoa powder and incorporate it into the eggs with a hand whisk, the melted chocolate and incorporate it into the batter, and finally, the sifted flour and vanillin.
Using a spatula, thoroughly incorporate the flour until you have a homogeneous mixture.
Pour the batter into a square baking pan (10×10 inches) lined with parchment paper and bake in a preheated static oven for 20 minutes.
Once out of the oven, let cool on a cooling rack before removing and cutting the brownie into 9 squares.
Then proceed with the decoration. Melt the white chocolate in the microwave or in a bain-marie, then transfer it to a small piping bag (a small cone made from parchment paper will also work). Now put all your artistic skills to work and draw concentric circles on the surface of each square and,
using a toothpick, draw lines from the center to the outer edges to create the web effect.
Finally, place the skull-shaped chocolate in the center of the web, using a little melted chocolate to adhere it.
Your Halloween brownies are now ready, and all that’s left is to organize a spooky themed party and enjoy them with company 😉.
