Making homemade tomato sauce has never been so easy. Today I’m sharing the method I use to make tomato sauce at home. I use the Thermomix for convenience. And I must say that it saves me a lot of time and effort. When I was little and we made tomato sauce at home, it was a festive day. The whole family gathered, starting early in the morning and finishing in the evening. Good times. Now things have changed, we don’t stock up as much. I take the opportunity to make it when the garden tomatoes are abundant and I don’t know how else to use them.

- Difficulty: Very easy
- Cost: Very economical
- Preparation time: 10 Minutes
- Cooking methods: Other
- Cuisine: Italian
- Seasonality: Summer
Ingredients
- to taste tomatoes (I use cherry tomatoes from my garden)
- to taste basil
Tools
- Thermomix
- Jars glass
Steps
Place the well-washed cherry tomatoes inside the Thermomix and blend for 30 seconds at speed 10. Add more tomatoes and blend for another minute at speed 10.
Add plenty of basil and cook for 30 minutes at speed 1 at 212°F. In this phase, place the Varoma instead of the measuring cup.
After 30 minutes, continue cooking for another 10/15 minutes at Varoma temperature and speed 1.
Meanwhile, sterilize the glass jars. I fill them halfway and place them in the microwave. I run them for 10 minutes. I leave them in the microwave until ready to use.
Once cooked, I transfer the tomato sauce into the glass jars, seal with the lid, and turn the jar upside down. Let it cool upside down and store in the pantry.
Store in a cool place. It keeps for up to 1 year. Ensure the jar maintains its vacuum seal.
