Baked Sea Bream with Orange and Lemon Easy and Tasty Recipe

Today we bring to the table Baked Sea Bream with Orange and Lemon. A fish main course that is really tasty and super easy to prepare.

A simple and also very genuine dish. It’s no coincidence that in any respectable diet, we often find baked fish. With low fats and lots of flavor, you can create many recipes!

Baked sea bream is perfect even for special occasions such as romantic dinners, Sunday lunches. It’s also the ideal second course to serve during holidays and celebrations, such as Christmas Eve.

Thanks to the lemon and orange juice, the sea bream remains soft and tender, and I won’t even mention the aroma it emits once baked! If you like baked fish, also try the version with cherry tomatoes.

Now let’s see how to prepare the baked sea bream, but first, I’ll leave you with some other delightful fish recipes!

baked sea bream
  • Difficulty: Very Easy
  • Cost: Economical
  • Preparation time: 10 Minutes
  • Portions: 2 people
  • Cooking methods: Electric Oven
  • Cuisine: Italian
  • Seasonality: All Seasons

Ingredients

  • 2 sea breams
  • 1 orange (organic, juice + grated zest)
  • 1 lemon (organic, juice + grated zest)
  • cloves Garlic
  • 2 leaves Bay leaf
  • 1 sprig Rosemary
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • Salt
  • Pepper (only if you like)
  • chopped parsley

Tools

  • Lemon squeezer
  • Lemon grater
  • Small bowl
  • Cutting board
  • Parchment paper
  • Baking pan
  • Paper towel

Preparation

  • I’ll start by saying that due to laziness, and just a little bit of time constraint (!!), I preferred to have the sea breams cleaned at the fish counter!

  • If you want, you can clean the fish yourself! Then rinse thoroughly under cold water and dry the sea breams with kitchen paper, even inside.

  • Grate the zest of an orange and a lemon (preferably organic) and set aside.

  • Squeeze the juice from both citrus fruits and pour it into a small bowl. Slice both the orange and lemon.

  • I chose to slice the orange and lemon with the peel, so I bought 2 oranges and 2 lemons in total (2 to squeeze and 2 to slice).

  • If you prefer, you can slice the same citrus fruits after grating their zest. Always proceed after washing them well.

  • Salt the sea breams, also inside the belly, stuff them with a slice of lemon and one of orange.

  • Place a sheet of parchment paper in a large baking pan, arrange the remaining slices of orange and lemon on top, and add a drizzle of oil.

  • Lay the sea breams on top of the citrus slices. Salt and pepper the surface of the fish.

  • Add two or three garlic cloves, two bay leaves, one sprig of rosemary.

  • Take the bowl where you put the orange and lemon juice, add a pinch of salt and a couple of tablespoons of oil.

  • Mix the “sauce” obtained and pour the juice over the sea breams. Sprinkle the sea breams with the orange and lemon zest.

  • Bake in a preheated static oven at 356°F (180°C) for about 30 minutes.

  • I didn’t turn the fish during cooking, but if necessary, do it halfway through cooking.

  • Once ready, serve and enjoy your delicious Baked Sea Bream with Orange and Lemon.

  • I hope you liked this recipe! Bon appétit and see you next time!
