Today we prepare together the tiramisu truffles, a dessert not only very quick to prepare but above all so, so delicious!
It’s a refined twist on the classic and beloved tiramisu, but without added eggs so if you are intolerant, you can make them using egg-free cookies.
The tiramisu-flavored truffles are delightful single-serving sweets perfect for any occasion! Great to serve at a buffet/aperitif, after a Sunday lunch, for a romantic dinner or during holidays and celebrations.
Typically, truffles are made using a few simple ingredients, including cookies and cream cheese, to create a creamy mixture.
Even those who are gluten-intolerant or lactose-intolerant can enjoy excellent truffles by choosing the right products.
The truffles are perfect for a sweet break that’s really hard to resist!
Let’s see the procedure together, but first, I leave you with some other delicious proposals!
- Difficulty: Very Easy
- Cost: Very Cheap
- Preparation time: 15 Minutes
- Portions: about 20
- Cooking methods: No Cooking
- Cuisine: Italian
- Seasonality: All Seasons
Ingredients
- 8.8 oz Mascarpone
- 3.5 oz Ladyfingers
- 2.5 tbsp Sugar
- 1.5 tbsp Coffee (unsweetened)
- Ground Cinnamon
- Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
- Coconut Flour
Tools
- Bowl
- Spatula
- Mixer
Preparation
First, prepare a small coffee pot and let it cool without adding sugar, you will need to use 1.5 tbsp.
Take a bowl, work the mascarpone with a fork until it becomes soft and creamy. Add the sugar and mix.
I recommend tasting as you add the sugar. I used 2.5 tbsp, but you can go up to 3.5 tbsp.
The sugar amount can vary based on the cookies used. Ladyfingers are very sweet, so it’s better not to overdo it by adding more!
Now, crush the ladyfingers in a mixer or finely crumble them with your hands, without turning them into flour.
Add the ladyfingers to the mascarpone, a pinch of ground cinnamon, 20 g of coconut flour, and the cooled coffee and mix well.
With your hands, form balls (choose the size you prefer) and dust half with unsweetened cocoa and the other half roll in coconut flour.
Arrange them on a nice serving plate and let them rest in the fridge until ready to serve.
And voilà, your Tiramisu Truffles are ready to be enjoyed, as good as classic tiramisu but lighter!
The number of truffles varies based on size, the smaller they are, the more you get, and vice versa. Please, store in the fridge.

Notes
Which cookies are best to use for making truffles?
I use whatever I find in the pantry! Whether they are ladyfingers, Pavesini, dry biscuits, Digestives, etc. In this case, even cocoa ones are fine.
What can I use instead of mascarpone?
You can use ricotta, robiola, or cream cheese. No yogurt because the final mixture would not have the same consistency. You could also do half ricotta and half cream cheese. Regarding ricotta, it’s best to use it only if it’s dry; otherwise, sieve it well.
How to store cookie truffles?
We can store the truffles in the fridge for 3-4 days covered with plastic wrap or placed in a container to prevent them from absorbing other odors. I’ve never tried freezing them, but we could also put them in the freezer and enjoy them as ice cream bonbons.
