If you are looking for a fresh, light, and irresistible dessert, strawberry mousse is definitely a perfect choice to satisfy the palate and end a meal in a sweet and refined way. This dessert is a soft and velvety cream, enriched with the intense and natural flavor of fresh strawberries, making it particularly suitable for spring and summer. The recipe uses few ingredients: fresh strawberries, sugar, cornstarch, and whipped cream, which combine perfectly to create a dessert that blends the natural sweetness of fruit with the creaminess of the mousse. For an extra touch, you can decorate with a few whole strawberries, mint leaves, or a sprinkle of powdered sugar, making the dish even more inviting and colorful. If you love strawberry desserts, try the creamy dessert with strawberries or the clever strawberry tart. The strawberry cheesecake or the fresh yogurt and strawberry mousse are also very delicious.

Let’s get to work and prepare the strawberry mousse together.

Steps for preparing the strawberry mousse

  • Wash the strawberries, remove the green part, and cut them into pieces. Place them in an immersion container with water, sugar, and the strained juice of one lemon. Blend with an immersion blender. Strain the mixture with a fine mesh strainer to remove the seeds.

  • Pour the obtained liquid into a saucepan. Add the cornstarch, stir with a hand whisk, and place on the heat. Cook, stirring constantly until the cream thickens. Cover and let cool. I prepare it the day before and leave it overnight in the fridge.

  • Whip the cream. Combine the strawberry mixture and work with electric whisks for another minute until you get an irresistible foam. Place in a large bowl or glasses. I accompanied it with strawberry jam softened with a bit of water and a drop of lemon juice.

Storage

You can store the mousse in the fridge for a couple of days.
