Creamy pistachio swirl recipe
The idea, as you can see in the photo, was to recreate the original recipe as I had made it some time ago. Unfortunately, I do not have the photograph to show you the original shape, which was supposed to be a puff pastry tree; but there are many variations in cooking… I changed the mold, thinking it would help me do better. I did not account for the variations… Patience, as soon as I can I will post the picture of the trees.
Instead of a tree, I created a spiral, which will help me find and understand the mistake. In the meantime, I gave my recipe a different shape.
On the holiday table, sweets are a must and this dessert represents a melty encounter of different flavors and textures in a crispy puff pastry shell with a creamy and flavorful heart.

Ingredients
Puff pastry, mascarpone, cream, and amaretti… Sugar decorations
- 1 puff pastry (Frozen, rectangular)
- 250 g mascarpone
- 5 oz amaretti (Dry)
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 3 tbsp pistachio cream
- 1 oz chocolate (Shavings)
Tools
Tree mold, mixing bowl, piping bag
Steps
When I enter the kitchen, the mind flies elsewhere and relaxes. I often cook at night, in the quiet, with background music…
Cut strips from the puff pastry sheet, divide into eight parts. As specified in the tools, I used the tree mold…
Arrange the strips around the molds. I usually use steel cones, but I changed and, not having them well sealed at the top, the puff pastry fell down; of course, I recovered, and instead of calling them trees, I changed the name. Place in a preheated oven at 390°F and let them brown.
Meanwhile prepare the cream by mixing the mascarpone, sugar, crumbled amaretti, and chocolate shavings.
Let the spirals cool and fill them with the obtained cream, plus a teaspoon of pistachio cream, complete with chocolate shavings.
Decorate with additional cream tufts
Dust with powdered sugar and your spiral is ready… Fragrant, tasty, and very melty!
Creamy pistachio swirl, keep refrigerated
preferably within two days; it can be frozen.
You can prepare the puff pastry the day before and fill it before serving to maintain more crispiness
