Yeast-Free Savory Pie Crust, Easy and Quick

Savory pies are what I love to cook the most. Once I have the base ready, I get creative with the filling. The base I share with you today is very simple, plus it’s yeast-free and requires no waiting time. I used the Thermomix, but it can also be kneaded by hand because it really only takes 5 minutes. I used lard, but you can easily replace it with olive oil. If, like me, you are a fan of savory pies, try these as well:

Ingredients

  • 1 2/3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 7 tbsps water
  • 1/2 tsp fine salt
  • 2 1/2 tbsps lard

Tools

  • Stand Mixer
  • Cling Film
  • Rolling Pin wooden

Steps

  • Place the flour, water, lard, and salt in the Thermomix bowl.

  • Knead for 2 minutes at spiga speed.

  • Transfer the dough to your work surface, wrap it with cling film, and let it rest for 30 minutes. Then proceed with rolling it out and preparing as desired.
