Dunkable Cookies with Whole Spelt Recipe
Every time we have breakfast, we look for a good and “dunkable” cookie to delight our palate with taste and softness.
Alas, we must also protect our health and cannot always afford a breakfast focused solely on deliciousness…
In this recipe, I have gathered the essential elements for a healthy and light breakfast that benefits both the spirit and our health.
These are simple cookies from days gone by, without frills, without vanity, but lovable in taste and crunchiness
The cookie that wins everyone over with its gentle presence.
Fresh eggs from my hens, fresh farm milk, freshly milled flour…What more could you want.
I kneaded 2.2 lbs of flour, the family is growing, so supplies are needed! I used vanilla and lemon flavor
Kneading relaxes me, so I take the opportunity to keep the pantry stocked.

Fresh eggs, milk, whole spelt flour and whole type 2 flour, butter and…
- 4 cups cups whole spelt flour
- 4 cups cups whole flour
- 1 cup cup milk
- 1 cup cup sugar (Plus extra sugar for coating the cookies)
- 7 oz oz butter
- 2 eggs
- 2 sachets baking ammonia
Tools
Mixing bowl, pastry board for rolling out the dough, and various cookie cutters. I made small rings, flowers, and rectangles
Steps
When making cookies, at least this is what happens to me, I think about the smile of those who will receive them…And this gratifies me!
Combine the two flours and baking ammonia, and mix well
Add the milk, butter, and eggs…
Finally, the sugar
Knead well until you get a homogeneous dough
Roll out the dough to a thickness of 1/8 to 1/4 inch and cut out shapes…Rings and flowers
Finally, the rectangles
Coat the surface of each cookie with sugar
As shown in the photo
Bake in a preheated oven at 392°F until golden brown for a crunchier cookie, or a few minutes less for a softer cookie.
When placing the cookies on the baking sheet, leave a little space for the rising. Once cooled, store at room temperature, in a dry place.
