The Nutella Puff Pastry Witch’s Broom is an easy, quick dessert. It’s made with a ready-made rectangular puff pastry roll, Nutella for the filling, milk, and brown sugar for the surface. It’s a very delicious dessert, perfect to prepare for the Epiphany holiday! If you have small children, you can let them help you in the kitchen to prepare it! If you don’t love hazelnut cream, you can also fill it with jam or pistachio cream. For the decoration on the surface, you can add colorful chocolates or colorful sprinkles. With the leftover puff pastry, I also created hats filled with Nutella. If you want, you can create small filled squares or little Epiphany stockings. Steps to make Nutella Puff Pastry Witch’s Broom
To prepare the Nutella Puff Pastry Witch’s Broom, first unroll a rectangular puff pastry roll. Fold the pastry in half. With a knife, try to create the shape of a witch’s broom. Remove the excess part and set it aside for later. Spread Nutella well over one half.
Then close it with the other half, sealing the edges well. In the lower part, create strips and twist them. With a piece of leftover puff pastry, create a thicker strip to place on top as decoration.
Press the edges of the handle with the tines of a fork so it doesn’t open during baking. Meanwhile, preheat the static oven to 392 Fahrenheit (200 Celsius). You can use the leftover puff pastry to create other shapes; I chose to create little witch hats also filled with chocolate, but you can choose whatever shapes you prefer. For example, you can create small Epiphany stockings. Brush the surface of the broom with milk and sprinkle with brown sugar. Bake for about 15 minutes.
Take it out of the oven and let it cool slightly. Your Nutella Puff Pastry Witch’s Broom is ready to be enjoyed! Beautiful, tasty, and scenic!
Storage and Tips
You can store the Nutella puff pastry in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
If you want, you can decorate the puff pastry with colorful chocolates or sprinkles.
