  • Difficulty: Very Easy
  • Cost: Economical
  • Preparation time: 20 Minutes
  • Portions: 6-8
  • Cooking methods: Oven
  • Cuisine: Italian
  • Seasonality: Christmas

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/3 cup apricot jam
  • 1/4 cup hazelnuts
  • 1/4 cup almonds
  • 1/8 cup walnuts

Steps

  • Pour the flour into a bowl, add the sugar, a pinch of salt, and mix, then add the butter in pieces and the egg, quickly work the ingredients.

  • Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and put it in the fridge.

  • Chop all the dried fruits with a knife, I crumbled the walnuts by hand.

  • When done, take the dough from the fridge and roll it out on a floured surface, make a rectangle and spread it with jam.

  • Add the dried fruits and roll it up, seal the ends by pressing the dough and shape into a donut.

  • The dough is delicate and may break with the dried fruits, do not roll it too thin.

  • Bake and cook the donut in a preheated oven at 350°F for about 15-20 minutes or in the air fryer at 350°F for 8 minutes like I did.

  • Remove from the oven, dust with powdered sugar, let cool, and cut into pieces.

    Enjoy your meal
