Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup butter (or lard)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder (vanilla-flavored)
  • 2 oz walnuts
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup honey

Steps

  • Prepare the shortcrust pastry, pour the flour into a bowl, add the sugar, baking powder and mix, add the egg, butter, and salt, mix well, make a ball and let it rest for 30 minutes.

  • After the resting time, roll out the pastry in a 8-inch mold creating a border of 1 inch, prick with a fork, bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for about 12 minutes.

  • Put the sugar, butter, and honey in a saucepan on the stove and let it melt, at this point add the walnuts, stirring occasionally for a couple of minutes.

  • Remove the base from the oven and place it on the work surface, fill it with the hot cream and put it in the fridge to set for about an hour.

  • Before serving, sprinkle with powdered sugar.
