Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 tbsps sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1.75 oz sourdough starter (or 1 tsp of instant yeast)
  • 1 pinch vanillin
  • 3 tbsps candied fruits
  • 5 tbsps lard (or oil)

Steps

  • The sourdough starter should be refreshed and active, dissolve it with a bit of milk, add the eggs, sugar, mix then add the lard, the flour gradually and work it.

  • Add the vanillin, the candied fruits and knead well, if necessary add a little milk then form a ball and let it rest for a couple of hours, then take the dough again, form a ball and put it in a greased baking pan.

  • Let it rest until doubled then preheat the oven to 355°F, bake and cook for about 30 minutes, do a toothpick test before taking it out.
