Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 egg
- 3 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 4 tbsp butter
- 1/2 lemon zest
- 0.35 oz almonds
- 0.35 oz walnuts
- 0.35 oz hazelnuts
Steps
Chop the nuts into pieces with a knife.
Pour the flour into a bowl, add the sugar, grated zest of half a small lemon, cinnamon, egg, and butter, and start kneading.
Add the nuts and knead again, make a loaf 2 inches wide then cut it diagonally into 3/4 inch pieces but do not separate the pieces.
Place the loaf on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for 10 minutes.
Remove from the oven, separate the cookies and put back in the oven for another 5 minutes.

Very good with cinnamon but if you don’t like it, you can always omit it and use other spices like cardamom or star anise, typical of Christmas cookies, or cocoa and exclude the spices.
