The chiacchiere cannoli filled with Sicilian cassata are sweets that have the typical shape of the Sicilian cannoli but the pastry is made with the dough of chiacchiere and the filling is the same as that of the cannoli made of ricotta, candied fruit, chocolate, and sugar.
A very delicious and fried sweet but you can also bake them if you prefer a lighter dessert, the chiacchiere cannoli are crispy on the outside and soft inside, with a simple filling very quick to prepare.
Carnival sweets are never enough, they are perfect to enjoy at any time, generally fried but you can also cook them with an air fryer or in the oven.

Ingredients
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 egg
- 3 1/2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp baking powder (vanilla flavored)
- 1.1 lb ricotta
- 3/4 cup sugar
- to taste candied fruit
- to taste chocolate chips
Steps
Pour the flour into a bowl, add the vanilla baking powder, egg, and mix. Add the butter in pieces, the juice of half a lemon, and a pinch of salt, then knead well.
Roll out the dough on a floured surface and cut into squares of about 4 inches, I used a pastry cutter.
Wrap the sheets around steel cannoli molds, overlapping the corners in the center, press a bit to seal, and fry in hot oil.
Drain on kitchen paper and set aside.
Drain the ricotta and place it in a bowl, add sugar, candied fruit, and chocolate chips, mix well, and fill the cannoli.
Decorate with a cherry and dust with powdered sugar.
