  • to taste chopped parsley

Tools for Crispy Cod in Air Fryer

  • 1 Air Fryer
  • 1 Bowl
  • 1 Plate

Steps for Preparing and Cooking Crispy Cod in Air Fryer:

  • For this recipe, you can buy pre-desalted cod or purchase cod still in salt and soak it in a large bowl full of cold water, changing the water 4/5 times during the day. Do this operation for 2 days.
After the time has passed, drain the water and dry the cod well with paper towels.

We bought the cod still needing desalting.

Now that your cod is desalted, cut it into pieces, or you can also make larger fillets according to your taste. Remove any bones with tweezers, and if you like, you can also remove the skin. We left it on because it becomes very crispy when cooked and adds extra crunchiness to the dish.

  • On a plate, place all-purpose flour if you want a more delicate crust (as we did), or you can use corn flour or re-milled durum wheat flour for extra crunchiness.

Coat the cod pieces well with flour, ensuring it sticks to every part, then place them in the air fryer on a grid covered with parchment paper.

Due to the small size of our air fryer, we had to do two batches. Then add a few sprays of extra virgin olive oil, and if you like, lightly pepper, then cook at 392°F (200°C) for about 20 minutes.

  • Once cooked, serve immediately to fully enjoy the crispiness. If you like, add chopped parsley or lemon wedges.

Storage:

You can store the crispy cod for up to 2 days in the refrigerator. Place the cod pieces in an airtight container or aluminum foil to prevent them from absorbing odors from other foods. To restore the crisp surface, heat it in an air fryer at 356°F (180°C) for 3-5 minutes or in the oven.
