Steps for Preparing Tiramisu in Chocolate Cups

  • Chop the dark chocolate. Melt it in a bain-marie or microwave. Let it cool slightly. Dip the bottom of the muffin molds into it. Alternatively, you can use the bottom of plastic glasses or aluminum molds. They need to be soft to remove easily. Place the inverted molds in the fridge for 10-15 minutes. Repeat the process for a thicker shell. Store in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.

  • Whip the cream with the mascarpone. Beat the egg yolks with sugar and add them to the mascarpone. Mix well. Remove the chocolate cups from the molds with cold hands (I placed them under cold water for a few minutes).

  • Put a generous spoonful of cream into the chocolate cups. Place a piece of ladyfinger in the center and soak it with cold coffee. Cover with more cream and place in the fridge. Just before serving, sprinkle with unsweetened cocoa powder and, if desired, additional chocolate shavings.

Storage

You can store the cups in the fridge for a couple of days.
