To make the procida lemon salad, you need lemons from the island of Procida; you can also prepare it with other lemons, but obviously the taste and texture will be different.
The recipe for procida lemon salad is very simple, perfect as a side dish or healthy snack with bread lemons, a typical aromatic and tasty dish with mint and chili pepper.
Bread lemons are typical of the island of Procida, they are much larger than the classic known lemons and have a very thick white part ranging from 0.8 to 1.2 inches.
I am lucky to have a tree planted by my grandfather I don’t know how many years ago, I believe 60 years, and in alternating years, it produces very large lemons, very sweet thanks to the white part and the smaller segments.

Ingredients
- 1 lemon (from Procida)
- 1 clove garlic
- to taste extra virgin olive oil
- to taste chili pepper
- to taste mint
Steps
Peel and cut the lemons into pieces, place them in a bowl. If using other lemons, slice them.
Squeeze a bit with a fork to release some juice, add the oil and garlic sliced thinly or chopped.
Wash and pat dry the mint, chop or tear it with your hands and add it to the lemon, add salt to taste and mix.

Those who don’t prefer garlic can use onion or fresh scallion.
