These Easter cookies are delicious, the Calabrian shreds are rich in chopped almonds and candied fruits, they are made in no time and can be eaten one after the other.

The recipe for Calabrian shreds is very simple, you prepare the dough either by hand or with a food processor, roll it out, and cut it with molds or a knife into squares, then bake.

These cookies are very quick and so good, rich in candied fruits and chopped almonds. In the original recipe, candied orange is used, but I used a mix of candied fruits.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 6 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp baking ammonia (or baking powder)
  • 1 egg
  • 3 drops vanilla
  • 1/4 cup almonds
  • 1/4 cup candied fruits

Steps

  • Pour the sifted flour with baking ammonia or baking powder onto the work surface, make a well in the center and add the sugar. Of course, you can use a mixer if you prefer.

  • Combine the vanilla, butter in pieces, candied fruits, and almonds chopped into small pieces or granules.

  • Work the ingredients well and roll the dough out on the floured surface.

  • Cut into squares or with a round cutter, as preferred, and place the cookies on the baking tray lined with parchment paper.

  • Bake in a hot oven at 356°F for 15 minutes.
