Easy to prepare, the eggs in puff pastry crust with speck are truly delicious, a perfect appetizer for parties — they take little time to make, crunchy on the outside and soft inside.
The recipe for eggs in puff pastry crust with speck is very simple and they look beautiful on the festive table. If you don’t like puff pastry you can use shortcrust pastry (pâte brisée) or pizza dough instead.
Obviously speck is a bit salty after baking; if you don’t prefer it you can replace it with cooked ham, mortadella, or sliced cheese (sottiletta) if you want a creamier result.

Ingredients
- 3 eggs
- 1 sheet of puff pastry
- 3 slices speck
Steps
Boil the eggs for 5–8 minutes after the water comes to a boil.
Remove from the pot, cool in cold water, then peel.
Cut the puff pastry into squares of about 6 inches, then wrap the egg with a slice of speck and place it on the pastry.
Press the pastry, keeping in mind that puff pastry expands during baking, then twist the ends to form a candy shape.
Arrange the eggs on a baking sheet, bake in a preheated oven at 392°F for 15 minutes.
