PASTIERA DI MACCHERONI typical Neapolitan Easter sweet, easy recipe, baked pasta dessert with fragrant and delicious candied fruits.
A very simple dessert typical of Torre del Greco in the province of Naples, the pastiera di maccheroni is a sort of baked capellini pasta pie with candied fruits prepared for Easter, easy to make and very good.
The pastiera di maccheroni is an Easter sweet that I had never made or eaten, I used mixed candied fruits instead of just citron and the pastiera flavor instead of orange blossom which I prefer.
It is truly delicious, a different dessert from the usual, an obviously different version from the typical Neapolitan pastiera filled with wheat but there is also the rice pastiera if you prefer.
It is made with simple ingredients and is very quick, it can be baked but if you want you can also cook it in a pan, I prefer it baked.
