The recipe to prepare the savory Christmas sticks is very simple; fill the pastry with provolone and tomato sauce, then cut and twist them, finally turn them to create the shape of a stick or umbrella handle.

Ingredients
- 1 puff pastry
- 1.8 oz tomato sauce
- 1.8 oz smoked provolone cheese
Steps
Take the pastry out of the fridge 10 minutes before using it and place it in front of you on the short side.
Pierce with a fork a bit then spread only half with tomato sauce, and thinly sliced provolone.
Grate the cheese with a large-hole grater and fill the pastry, then fold the half over the filling and seal the edges a bit by pressing with your fingers.
Cut into 5 strips, remove a piece from the end because they are too long or leave them as is, it’s just for aesthetic reasons, nothing more.
Now twist them onto themselves then curve the upper part to the left to form the typical Christmas candy canes.
Place them on the baking sheet lined with paper, sprinkle with oregano, bake in a preheated 392°F oven for 15 minutes.
