Savory Christmas Sticks with Puff Pastry

Ingredients

  • 1 puff pastry
  • 1.8 oz tomato sauce
  • 1.8 oz smoked provolone cheese

Steps

  • Take the pastry out of the fridge 10 minutes before using it and place it in front of you on the short side.

  • Pierce with a fork a bit then spread only half with tomato sauce, and thinly sliced provolone.

  • Grate the cheese with a large-hole grater and fill the pastry, then fold the half over the filling and seal the edges a bit by pressing with your fingers.

  • Cut into 5 strips, remove a piece from the end because they are too long or leave them as is, it’s just for aesthetic reasons, nothing more.

  • Now twist them onto themselves then curve the upper part to the left to form the typical Christmas candy canes.

  • Place them on the baking sheet lined with paper, sprinkle with oregano, bake in a preheated 392°F oven for 15 minutes.
