Nutella Puff Pastry Mummies.
Following the success of the savory mummies with sausages, here is their sweet version!
They’re super easy to make: just a roll of puff pastry, some Nutella and in a few minutes you’ll bake crispy outside and creamy inside treats.
Perfect for Halloween, for a tasty snack, or to make breakfast more fun!
An easy, quick, and ‘monstrously’ good idea that everyone will love — adults and kids!
And so… Trick or treat?
- Difficulty: Easy
- Cost: Cheap
- Preparation time: 20 Minutes
- Portions: 6 Pieces
- Cooking methods: Oven
- Cuisine: Italian
- Seasonality: Halloween
Ingredients
- 1 roll puff pastry (rectangular)
- 1 egg yolk
- to taste Nutella®
- to taste sugar eyes (eyes)
Tools
- Small Bowl
- Brush
- Parchment Paper
- Knife
- Baking Tray
Steps
Unroll a rectangular puff pastry roll and cut it in half.
On one half, cut 6 rectangles (these will be the mummies’ base). Cut the other half into thin strips to form the ‘bandages’.
Place the base rectangles on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Using a piping bag, distribute some Nutella on each rectangle and spread it slightly with the back of a teaspoon.
Decorate with the puff pastry strips, crossing them as real ‘bandages’, leaving space for the eyes.
Brush the mummies with the egg yolk to get a nice golden color.
Bake in a static oven at 355°F (180°C) for about 15-20 minutes, until they are puffed and golden.
Our Nutella Puff Pastry Mummies are ready. Take them out of the oven and let them cool down, then add the sugar eyes or two chocolate chips to bring our mummies to life!
