Baked pasta is one of my favorite first courses and every time I eat it, I indulge. It’s a very rich dish that everyone loves, both adults and children.
Each of us has our own version, today I propose mine which involves using sauce with ground meat, mozzarella, grated Parmesan, and diced cooked ham, which can be replaced by mortadella or salami.
Baked pasta is also suitable as a fridge-clear-out recipe, you can combine cured meats and cheeses that you need to use up from the fridge, thus creating a rich and very appetizing pasta.

Ingredients
- 6.35 oz Pasta
- 4.41 oz Mozzarella
- 1.76 oz Cooked ham (diced)
- to taste Parmesan cheese (grated)
- 2.11 cups Tomato sauce
- 7.05 oz Ground meat
- 1 Onion
- to taste Extra virgin olive oil
- to taste Salt
Preparation
To make baked pasta, first prepare the sauce: in a pot, place the chopped onion and let it soften for 10 minutes over low heat with the extra virgin olive oil.
Add the ground meat and brown it. Finally, add the tomato sauce, add water until the sauce is completely covered. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Salt at the end of cooking.
Cook the pasta in plenty of salted water, drain it al dente and season it with part of the sauce. Take a baking dish and pour in the pasta, leveling it well.
Add the cooked ham, mozzarella cut into cubes, and the remaining sauce (if desired, you can add deli meats and cheeses to your taste). Mix well and sprinkle with grated Parmesan.
Bake in a preheated oven at 356°F for about 30-40 minutes. When a crispy crust has formed on top of the baked pasta, remove the baking dish and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy your meal!
