Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/3 cup sugar
- rum
- as needed milk
- Half packet baking powder for desserts
- powdered sugar
- 2 Renette apples
- sugar
- ground cinnamon
- lemon zest
- egg yolk
- as needed milk
Preparation
Pour the sifted flour with the baking powder onto the work surface and make a well in the center.
Add the sugar, egg, a teaspoon of rum, and the cubed butter, and knead well.
Make a ball and let it rest for 30 minutes in the fridge wrapped in plastic wrap.
Peel the apples and cut them into chunks, place them in a bowl with a bit of cinnamon and lemon zest.
Add a couple of tablespoons of sugar, mix well and cook everything over low heat for a few minutes.
Take the pastry from the fridge and divide it into two parts, roll them out and place one sheet in a 8-inch pie pan, creating a border of about an inch.
Pour the apples onto the pastry and cover with the other half of the pastry, fold it inside to seal the dessert.
Brush with a mixture of egg yolk and milk and bake in a preheated oven at 350°F fan mode, cook for 30 minutes.
Remove from the oven and let cool before cutting.
