You know when you see a recipe and think “I have everything at home, I’ll make it right away”. Well, that’s exactly what happened when I saw these honey feta cubes on the Chinese social network from a German blogger (whose name I can’t remember). It really takes just a few minutes to prepare them and they are good to be served as an appetizer, the combination of goat cheese and honey is exceptional, and the breading makes these cubes truly outstanding. Let’s see together how to prepare them in the following recipe.
- Difficulty: Very Easy
- Cost: Economic
- Rest time: 20 Minutes
- Preparation time: 10 Minutes
- Portions: 4
- Cooking methods: Air Frying
- Cuisine: Italian
- Seasonality: Fall, Winter, All Seasons
Ingredients
- 7 oz feta cheese
- 1 egg (large)
- as needed breadcrumbs
- as needed salt
- 1 pinch pepper
- as needed wildflower honey
Steps
Start preparing your honey feta cubes by cutting the feta cheese into cubes about 1 x 1 cm (½ x ½ inch). Then place them in the fridge for about 10 minutes. At this point, beat an egg and add salt and pepper. Pour some breadcrumbs into a second bowl. Take the cheese out of the fridge and dip the cubes first in the beaten egg, then in the breadcrumbs. When you’re done, put all the feta cubes back in the fridge for another 10 minutes.
At this point, take your cubes and put them in the air fryer. Let them cook at 375°F for about 8-10 minutes or until they reach a golden color as you see in the photo.
ATTENTION since each air fryer is different, I recommend checking the cooking from 6 minutes on. If yours is bigger or more powerful, the cooking times may vary.
Once your feta cubes are ready, bring them to the table and serve them with wildflower honey. They are truly a special and tasty appetizer.
