For these holidays, I couldn’t resist trying these chocolate pinecones, or sweet pinecones, which are trending online. A super easy and quick recipe without baking. A delightful and scenic dessert that I personally served with vanilla ice cream and it was a real success. Let’s see how to prepare these chocolate pinecones in the following recipe.

  • Difficulty: Very Easy
  • Cost: Cheap
  • Rest time: 20 Minutes
  • Preparation time: 15 Minutes
  • Portions: 8
  • Cooking methods: No baking
  • Cuisine: Italian
  • Seasonality: Christmas

Ingredients

With these amounts, you will get about 8-9 medium-large chocolate pinecones, but if you decide to serve them as a dessert, I recommend reducing the size so you can get up to 12 pieces.

  • 5.6 oz digestive biscuits
  • 1 cup milk
  • 4.2 oz sugar
  • 2.8 oz melted butter
  • 5.3 oz grated coconut (rapé)
  • 2.1 oz toasted hazelnuts (chopped)
  • 2.8 oz unsweetened cocoa powder
  • to taste chocolate cereals

Tools

  • 1 Blender
  • 1 Bowl

Steps

Start preparing your chocolate pinecones by blending the biscuits into very small pieces. Then pour them into a large bowl and add milk, sugar, melted butter, and unsweetened cocoa. Use a wooden spoon to mix all the ingredients, then add the grated coconut and toasted hazelnuts. You will get a fairly sticky but dense mixture.

Now form your pinecones with the mixture. Unfortunately, I accidentally deleted the step-by-step photos 🙁 and can’t post them for you, but you just need to form balls with a point. I promise to remake them just to create the step-by-step photos.

After forming all your pinecones, place them in the fridge for at least 1 hour.

After this time, take your shapes out of the fridge and start inserting the chocolate cereals from the base upwards, forming a pinecone as in the picture.

At this point, place them in the fridge until you are ready to serve your chocolate pinecones. If you want, you can sprinkle them with powdered sugar before serving.

Saby recommends…

The chocolate pinecones remain soft and delicious and are already very tasty this way, but if you want to make them even more delicious, you can fill them with chocolate spread. Just insert a straw from the top point and pour the cream to your liking before putting them in the fridge.
