The summer breakfast for me is all about fruit porridge, which is quickly prepared without cooking and is delicious. I prepare several jars on Sunday night for the whole week so that in the morning I don’t have to rush and I can calmly enjoy my breakfast, which is why they are called overnight oats. Of course, you can vary the fruit as you like and according to the season. The recipe here is indicative and does not follow any low-calorie diet. But let’s see together how to prepare this fruit porridge.
- Difficulty: Very easy
- Cost: Very cheap
- Rest time: 8 Hours
- Preparation time: 5 Minutes
- Portions: 1
- Cuisine: Italian
- Seasonality: All seasons
Ingredients
- 1/3 cup rolled oats
- 1 tsp honey
- as needed unsweetened plant-based milk (I use almond milk)
- as needed seasonal fruit (I use strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries)
- 2 tbsps yogurt of choice (I use plain natural yogurt)
- 1 tsp quinoa (optional)
Steps
The preparation of this fruit porridge is really very simple: start by pouring the rolled oats and quinoa (if you decide to use it) into the jar (a small bowl will also work), then pour the milk with the honey and stir vigorously. At this point, add the fruit that you have washed and cut.
Finally, add the yogurt and close the jar, placing it in the fridge overnight.
The next day you can decorate with fruit and enjoy it for breakfast.
It’s a healthy and tasty breakfast that you can customize as you like using different flavored yogurts or natural ones enriched with honey, or you can add chocolate chips, hazelnuts or pistachio crumbs, or any dried fruit you prefer. Try it and unleash your creativity, you can create many delicious versions for a different breakfast every day.

Fruit porridge or overnight oats differ from classic porridge because it goes in the fridge and is uncooked.
