They are a must at a buffet! They are simple, quick to prepare, and you can fill them however you like. I’ll show you how I made them, but of course, you can use a different filling. The quick white bread sandwiches are prepared cold, filled in multiple layers, and then cut into smaller pieces. This way, you’ll get many different ones.
- Cost: Very economical
- Preparation time: 15 Minutes
- Cuisine: Italian
Ingredients
- 1 white bread
- béarnaise sauce
- ham
- smoked provolone cheese
Preparation
For sandwich preparation, I recommend preparing a large counter. For convenience, I used the chopping board where I usually prepare fresh pasta.
Arrange a few slices of white bread well spaced out and spread a little béarnaise sauce on each. Cover with a slice of ham and smoked provolone cheese.
Close with a second slice of white bread. Spread a little more sauce on top.
At this point, stack one sandwich on top of the other, then cut first in half and then again in half, forming 4 towers from each sandwich, which you secure with a long toothpick.
Instead of white bread, you can use the crustless white loaf. You can find it in both square and long formats. If you use the latter, just fill the layers and then cut in half lengthwise and then into 6-8 parts crosswise. Finally, secure the towers with the long sticks. (click to see how cute these are 😍).
You can prepare many with different fillings and combine them in the tower.
In short, you just need a little imagination and in no time they’re ready!
