At Easter, many eggs are given as gifts, especially if you have young children. I have 2, and this year I had as many as 6! Not to mention various small eggs and bunnies 🙂 So, I turned to desserts: muffins, cookies, breakfast cake, and even a delicious tart that I called Easter Tart because I only used chocolate from the eggs in the preparation. Inside the tart, I put a chocolate pastry cream obviously prepared with Easter eggs. It is simple to prepare and not at all cloying!
- Difficulty: Easy
- Cost: Cheap
- Preparation time: 15 Minutes
- Cooking time: 10 Minutes
- Cuisine: Italian
- Seasonality: Easter
Ingredients
- 1 Egg
- 2 tablespoons Sugar
- 2 tablespoons Flour
- 2 cups cups Milk
- 2 tablespoons Potato starch
- 4.41 oz Chocolate (about half an egg)
Preparation
Melt the chocolate in a double boiler. Meanwhile, in a bowl, beat the egg with the sugar and then add the flour.
Add the potato starch, mix everything, and then pour in the melted chocolate.
In a saucepan, heat the milk without bringing it to a boil. Pour a little into the bowl and mix the ingredients. Finally, pour all the contents back into the saucepan and return to low heat. Don’t worry, it will seem too liquid at first but will gradually thicken. Keep stirring with the whisk to prevent it from sticking to the bottom until it reaches the right consistency.
Once the pastry cream with Easter eggs is ready, pour it into a container covered with plastic wrap on contact until it is used for your dessert preparation. If you are not preparing it immediately, let it reach room temperature and then you can put it in the refrigerator.
