Christmas Star with Cream and Citrus

Christmas Star with cream and citrus, no-bake, to prepare when you crave something sweet but don’t feel like cooking. This seems like a nice idea, even if it’s not really mine, while browsing the web I saw many recipes and then, in a moment of sugar shortage, my imagination and visual memory did the rest. You can prepare the Christmas Star for a dinner gathering with friends or coffee with the gals. But know that after the holidays we’ll all have an abundance of panettone and pandoro at home, and what better occasion to pleasantly recycle them this way. Filled with fresh cream and seasonal fruits like citrus, which are particularly lovable at this time.

Steps to prepare the Christmas Star

  • Today I prepare 2 desserts with a single pandoro. These recipes are also ideal for after the holidays when panettone and pandoro are abundant in every home. So I prepare my Christmas Star with cream and citrus, I cut one-third horizontally from the pandoro and carve out the center, skimming the edges carefully not to break them. With the electric mixer, I whip the fresh cream and leave it in the fridge to chill while I peel the citrus, kiwi, and pomegranate. By the way, I had a tablespoon of custard left, and I added it to the cream, but it can be omitted. I filled the pandoro with whipped cream and decorated it with citrus fruits, all chopped into small cubes. A dusting of powdered sugar and the dessert for after dinner is ready.

My name is Pina, and my passion is food and cooking in general. On the blog, I focus on regional dishes like those from my birthplace, Sicily. I also feature dishes from Lazio, the region that has hosted me for over 40 years, but in general, I cover all Italian regions. Traveling and exploring is my second passion, so I couldn't leave out dishes from around the "World" on my blog. My blog is divided into simple and essential sections like appetizers, first courses, main courses, side dishes, bread and leavened products, jams and preserves, wines and wineries, and of course, travels. Desserts are included, and finally, there is a dedicated corner for gluten-free options. Easy recipes, explained step by step and always updated.
