Ingredients

  • 2 mackerels (about 11.6 oz cleaned)
  • 2 onions (about 8.5 oz)
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1 teaspoon vinegar
  • salt
  • pepper

What You Need to Cook Mackerel with Onions in Jar Cooking

  • 1 Microwave
  • 1 Jar one-liter with thin seal

How to Prepare Mackerel with Onions in Jar Cooking in the Microwave

  • Take the mackerels, clean and fillet them. If you’re not able, have your trusted fishmonger do this for you.

    Place the mackerel fillets on a cutting board and lightly flour them.

  • Clean the onions, slice them very thinly, then sauté them, in a pan or in the microwave, with a little oil and salt until they soften.

    Place a tablespoon of sautéed onion at the bottom of a one-liter jar with a thin seal.

    Lay two mackerel fillets on the onions and season with a little oil, salt, and pepper.

  • Add more sautéed onions and finish with the remaining two fish fillets.

    Cover with the remaining onion, also add a teaspoon of vinegar, a splash of oil.

  • Flavor with more salt and pepper.

    Close the jar with its lid with seal and seal with the 4 clips as per Instructions for cooking in jar with the microwave.

    Cook in the microwave, at your tested power (I use 600 W) for 8 minutes.

    At the end of the cooking, remove the jar carefully, and let it rest closed until consumption.
