How to cook roasted chestnuts in an air fryer, my new toy. 🙂
After spending a summer almost constantly at 100°F, the air fryer had to, by necessity, become part of my life.
First important consideration: the air fryer is not like the one found in restaurants or fast food joints that prepares greasy fried dishes, but it’s simply a very efficient electric oven, which quickly reaches temperature and will save you 70% of electricity by reducing cooking times by 40%.
What excites me about my fryer is the fact that it does everything on its own; I don’t have to ‘struggle’ to select the temperature, cooking time, and air flow speed, I just use the app that contains many recipes and sends commands to the fryer and alerts you when cooking is finished while you’re enjoying your favorite TV series on the sofa. 🙂
For those like me who love a kitchen that favors using little fat, this Philips 7000 series model fully satisfies me.
But enough chatter, I’ll show you in the video how to cook roasted chestnuts in an air fryer.
Oh boy, they’re good!

SPECIAL: Guide to the Best Air Fryers
- 1 Air Fryer
Steps
Place the chestnuts on a cutting board with the flat side down and using a sharp knife, make a long and shallow cut on top of each chestnut.
Soak in hot water for 30 minutes, then drain them and dry with a paper towel.
Arrange the chestnuts in the fryer basket, creating a single layer.
Choose the recipe on the app and start it; the app will ‘magically’ start the fryer, setting the time, temperature, and air speed.
For those who do not have my fryer, I cooked for 20 minutes at 356°F with high air speed.
