Steps to Create a Perfect Cheese Board:
According to my daughter, it’s useful not to use more than four types of cold cuts, which should be alternated with cheeses and colorful fruits, in our case she chose orange, strawberries, and blueberries.
In the board you see in the photo, she also included walnuts and dried figs.
Inside, she placed some crackers and to make the board even more colorful, she added rosemary from her plant.
Around the board, she prepared two small bowls with jams.
My daughter explained to me that cheeses, being sugar-free, should be accompanied by jams to balance their saltiness.
As a side to the board, you can add bowls with tuna-stuffed cherry tomatoes, olives, artichokes and, if you’re from Genoa, the inevitable focaccia.

FAQ (Questions and Answers)
How to choose the cold cuts?
You can choose raw cold cuts such as prosciutto, salami, speck, bresaola, or cooked cold cuts like turkey breast, cooked ham, mortadella.
To avoid waste, you should prepare no more than two slices per guest.
Cold cuts should be purchased close to the event, especially if bought pre-sliced.How to choose the cheeses?
Quality should prevail over economy.
In the board, you can include both fresh cheeses like robiola or mozzarella balls, medium-aged or soft cheeses like fresh fontina, brie, soft cheeses, toma, blue cheeses, and more aged cheeses like alpine fontina, gruyere, bra, parmesan.
Cheeses should be served at room temperature, so it’s advisable to take them out of the fridge a few hours before eating.I don’t like jams much, how can I replace them?
Aged hard cheeses pair well with honey. You can choose between chestnut honey with a strong flavor or acacia honey with a more neutral taste.
