Battered Pork Slices

Battered pork slices are a quick dish to make, an alternative to the classic fried slice. Instead of frying with breadcrumbs, you fry with batter. It’s an excellent second course, and the meat remains beautifully tender, to be accompanied by a nice plate of salad or some fries. Everyone will like it, especially children.

Ingredients for Battered Pork Slices

  • 1.32 lbs Pork slices
  • to taste extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 cup Flour
  • 1 egg
  • to taste water
  • to taste salt
  • 1 bunch Parsley

Tools

  • 1 Bowl
  • 1 Pan
  • Absorbent paper

Steps

  • Let’s see how to prepare the slices.

In a bowl, mix flour, egg, and a pinch of salt. Then add water, mixing well, being careful not to form lumps. Chop a bunch of parsley and add it to the batter, mixing again. Let it rest for 10 minutes. Then put the slices into the batter and let them rest for about 15 minutes. Heat the oil in a pan and start frying. Drain the slices on absorbent paper. Plate with a sprinkle of chopped parsley and accompany, if you like, with lemon slices.

Notes

The batter can be used to fry vegetables, fish, or meat. It should not be liquid, but should have the consistency of a thick cream, to better cover the slices. I added parsley to the batter, which gives the meat an extra touch; if you like, you could also add chopped garlic…
