Steps for Delicious Puff Pastry Christmas Trees
Let’s see how to prepare the trees.
First, unroll the puff pastry, spread less than half of the cream cheese on half of the pastry, then place the slices of cooked ham, take the remaining cheese, put it in a bowl, chop the parsley and add it to the cheese, mixing well, spread it on the rest of the pastry, cover with the other pastry sheet. Using a pasta cutter or a sharp knife, cut strips from the shorter side about 0.79 inches wide; consider that you should make 16 trees, 8 with ham and 8 with cheese, make sure to measure carefully. Once cut, if the pastry seems too soft, put it in the fridge for a bit. Take the long wooden skewers, take one strip at a time and fold it over itself to form a tree, skewer it in the middle with the skewer trying not to squash it, place it on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and bake in a preheated oven at 356°F for about 15-20 minutes or until the desired golden color is achieved. If you need more trees, just double the amounts.
notes
This is a base, you can serve it as is, or you can prepare cheese stars and skewer them on top of the tree or put a pitted olive, you can serve on a serving plate or take a thick piece of cheese like pecorino and skewer all the trees standing up, just play a little with your imagination and tastes, you’ll make a great impression!
