  • In a bowl, mix the spreadable cheese with the crumbled tuna and chopped chives until you get a smooth cream. Adjust the salt.
With the piping bag, fill the baskets to the brim and decorate them with yellow and red cherry tomatoes sliced into rounds and a few lettuce leaves (use the leaves from the heart of the lettuce, they are smaller and more tender).
Roll up the slices of cooked ham to create “roses” and place them in each basket as a scenic decoration.
And the parmigiano baskets are ready to be served.
Consume them immediately after filling, so the wafer remains crispy. If preparing them in advance, keep the baskets empty and fill them just before serving. This is a recommended tip to maintain crispness.

Storage

To best preserve the filled parmigiano baskets, separate the filling from the basket. Fill them only when ready to serve. This prevents the moisture from the filling softening the wafer and ruining its crispness.

After filling: the filled baskets should be consumed almost immediately, preferably within a few hours, before the wafer loses its crispness

Store empty baskets in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two or three days.

Keep the tuna sauce in an airtight container for up to two days. Fill only when ready to serve.
