- 3.5 oz Mortadella
- 5.3 oz Spreadable cheese
- to taste Mayonnaise
- to taste Pitted green olives
- to taste Olive pâté
Tools
- 1 Rolling pin
- Plastic wrap
- 1 Plate
Preparation of Savory Christmas Log
Take the slices of sandwich bread and place them on plastic wrap, putting them next to each other, overlapping the edges. Flatten them with a rolling pin, trying to seal the edges. Spread the cheese over all the bread, garnish with sliced olives and cover with mortadella. Using the plastic wrap, roll everything up from the longer side, then close the sides with the wrap, like a candy, and let it rest in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
After the time has passed, remove the wrap and cut it into 3 parts, place them on a serving plate trying to form a log. Take some mayonnaise and add a few tablespoons of olive pâté, mix well and spread on the log. Add some pâté here and there to give some color and then use a fork to make zigzag lines.
Notes
If you cannot seal the edges, you can spread a bit of cheese before using the rolling pin. You can prepare it well in advance and keep it in the fridge, but make sure to take it out at least 30 minutes before serving, otherwise, it will be too cold.
