Smoked pork with apples and onions, a simple recipe to make, that even the less experienced can prepare in no time. The smoked pork chops, obviously, are bought directly at the butcher shop, not all of them have them, but it’s not difficult to find them. In any case, you can use the same recipe for fresh pork loin, dedicating a few more minutes to the cooking. I’ve served this dish even on Christmas occasions as a second alternative to traditional recipes… everyone is always amazed by the smoked pork with apples and onions. As for the apple juice needed during cooking, if you ever forget it, you can always make it at home by blending a nice apple with the right amount of water… it doesn’t even need to be filtered… most of the time I do just that.

How to Prepare Smoked Pork with Apples and Onions
To prepare the Smoked Pork with Apples and Onions, arrange your work surface with all the ingredients already measured out so that everything is at hand.
Peel the onions and apples, slice them thinly so they cook quickly, and let them soften in a non-stick pan with 1 cup of water.
Let them stew over medium heat until they are soft and all the water has evaporated.
At this point, add the oil, but let it sauté for only 1 or 2 minutes because they shouldn’t brown, and then place everything on a plate.
In the same pan, raise the heat, grill the chops for a few minutes, then immediately add the apple juice, the mixture you set aside, the honey, and let all the juices thicken.
Just before turning off, but only if you like, you can add a sprig of sage, even whole, to enhance the dish’s aroma.
Plate and serve your Smoked Pork with Apples and Onions, very hot, covering it with the resulting sauce.
Tips and recipes:
You can store the Smoked Pork in the refrigerator for at least two days or even freeze it.
As you may have noticed, I did not include salt in this recipe because smoked pork loin is already very flavorful on its own.
