Puff pastry with pears and gorgonzola is the ultimate delight for cheese enthusiasts like me. This recipe is meant to be served right after baking… you can shape your appetizer however you like: round, heart-shaped, square… I cut it with scissors, right before serving.
If you don’t like pears, you can always try with apples, but I don’t think it’s the same.
This is a very simple recipe that, like many others, solves last-minute situations. As always, I recommend keeping some ready-made puff pastry in your fridge… and maybe even some shortcrust pastry, or why not, even some focaccia dough.

How to Prepare Puff Pastry with Pears and Gorgonzola
To prepare the Puff Pastry with Pears and Gorgonzola, I recommend having everything you need at hand to make your work as simple as possible.
Turn on the oven and set it to 350°F.
Wash the pears, dry them, cut them in half, and slice them, trying not to exceed 1/4 inch per slice.
Roll out the puff pastry on the work surface, and divide it into 4 equal parts.
Take one piece and spread a portion of gorgonzola in the center, leaving the edges free, add a handful of walnuts, and place two slices of pear on top.
Sprinkle with grated Parmesan and a grind of fresh pepper.
Roll the edges over themselves and press to seal them around the pears.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place the 4 puff pastry rectangles inside.
Bake for about 10/15 minutes, or until golden brown.
Serve your Puff Pastry with Pears and Gorgonzola piping hot while it’s still melty.

Tips and Variations:
If you prefer to serve the Puff Pastry with Pears and Gorgonzola in smaller portions for a stand-up dinner, then divide the pastry into 8 parts, and use just one slice of pear on each.
If you have leftovers, you can store them in the refrigerator for 2 days or put them directly in the freezer.
You can then reheat them in the microwave, or if you don’t have one, place them directly in a non-stick pan over very low heat and cover them.
