  • Cooking methods: Oven
  • Cuisine: Italian
  • Seasonality: All seasons

Ingredients

  • 1 package puff pastry (rectangular)
  • 1 egg yolk (to brush before baking)
  • to taste Nutella®
  • to taste pistachio cream
  • to taste hazelnut crumble
  • to taste pistachio crumble
  • to taste granulated sugar

Tools

  • Crimped wheels
  • Parchment paper
  • Pans
  • Piping bag
  • Cooling racks

Steps

  • Unroll the puff pastry keeping the parchment paper and divide it in half lengthwise.
Stack the two parts to obtain a thicker pastry, then press lightly with your hands or roll with a rolling pin to make them adhere.

  • Sprinkle the entire surface with granulated sugar, distributing it evenly and regularly.

Roll up the puff pastry from the long side forming a tight and regular cylinder.
Use a sharp knife to cut slices about 0.6-0.8 inches thick, or as preferred.

Brush each puff pastry spiral with the lightly beaten egg yolk.

  • Now place the puff pastry rolls on a baking tray previously lined with parchment paper, spaced apart, and bake them in a preheated static oven at 356°F for 20-25 minutes, until they are golden and crispy.
Once cooked, remove them from the oven and let cool completely on a cooling rack.

  • When the rolls are cold, decorate the surface with zig-zags of Nutella and zig-zags of pistachio cream, both placed in two piping bags.

Do not overdo it with the quantity, just to complete them and make them more delicious, also adding a pinch of crumble for the crunchy note.

A little treat that disappears in a moment…

    Enjoy and Happy New Year!
