homemade balsamic vinegar glaze
  • Difficulty: Very easy
  • Cost: Very cheap
  • Preparation time: 5 Minutes
  • Portions: 8
  • Cooking methods: Stovetop
  • Cuisine: Italian

Ingredients for balsamic vinegar glaze

  • 6.8 oz Balsamic vinegar
  • 1.8 tbsp Honey
  • 1.8 oz Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Cornstarch
  • 1.7 oz Red wine

Preparation of balsamic vinegar glaze

  • To prepare the balsamic vinegar glaze, first place the balsamic vinegar, sugar, and honey in a saucepan.
Then put on the heat and once it reaches a boil, lower the heat and let it cook for 6/7 minutes.

  • In the meantime, dissolve the cornstarch in the red wine, stirring very well to avoid lumps.
Once your balsamic vinegar has boiled for at least 7 minutes and the sugar has dissolved, add the wine, and stir very well for a few minutes to incorporate everything.

  • Now you can continue cooking until you have a nice thick and substantial balsamic vinegar glaze, stirring occasionally to prevent it from settling on the bottom and burning.

  • Adjust to your desired consistency, for example, we like it nice and thick but not too much, remember it should slide off the spoon to season your dishes.

  • Finally, remove your balsamic vinegar glaze from the heat, place it in an airtight jar, and let it cool completely before putting it in the fridge and..
    ENJOY

Notes

The glaze keeps in the fridge for a long time in an airtight container. If you want an even thicker consistency, you can cook it a few minutes longer, remembering that once cold it will be more solid. HERE and HERE other homemade condiments. If you want to see more recipes RETURN TO HOME
