The gratinated mushrooms are a very tasty and very simple side dish to prepare. The type of mushrooms generally used for gratin are the pleurotus, which are very easily found in markets and are also quite economical. For cleaning the mushrooms, I personally don’t agree with removing residues only with a cloth because it’s not always possible, but by quickly and gently rinsing them under water, I guarantee they won’t be ruined. In the recipe, you’ll find spicy oil used as a seasoning in the breadcrumbs, because by mixing it well, it will form a tasty crust in a homogeneous way. Now I’ll leave you to this quick recipe.
- Difficulty: Very Easy
- Cost: Economical
- Preparation time: 15 Minutes
- Portions: 4
- Cooking methods: Oven
- Cuisine: Italian
Ingredients
- 1.75 lbs Pleurotus mushrooms
- 3 cups breadcrumbs
- 1 tsp spicy oil
- parsley to taste
- 1 clove garlic
- salt
- 0.7 oz grated Parmesan cheese
Tools
- Baking Tray
- Parchment Paper
Steps
Start by cleaning the mushrooms. Cut off the stem part and quickly rinse the mushrooms under water, gently rubbing with your fingers. Let them drain and blot them with paper towels.
Prepare the breadcrumbs by adding all the ingredients: salt, chopped parsley, Parmesan cheese, crushed garlic, and spicy oil.
Then mix everything with your hands, ensuring the spicy oil is well absorbed and distributed. If you prefer, you can replace it with olive oil and add some chili powder.
Place parchment paper with a drizzle of oil on the baking tray. Coat each mushroom in the seasoned breadcrumbs on both sides. Then arrange them side by side without overlapping and add another drizzle of oil.
Bake at 400°F for 20 minutes in a ventilated oven.
The gratinated mushrooms are ready!!
Storage
It is preferable to consume the gratinated mushrooms as soon as they are made, but you can store them for 1 day in the refrigerator and then heat them in the oven for a few minutes before eating.
