Baked Pork Rolls

A simple and tasty main course, the Baked Pork Rolls. I chose this cooking method to get a lighter version, but if you want, you can also cook them in a pan without the need to add more oil, as the pork meat bundles had already been passed through it before breading. They are also egg-free, so the breading is suitable for those with an intolerance to this food. I also made the Sweet and Sour Bacon Rolls, which are truly delicious, but I also invite you to try the Loin Rolls with Orange Cream, those in tomato sauce, and the Loin Bites with Lemon Cream, all very easy to make, as well as fast and tasty.

Ingredients for Baked Pork Rolls

  • 1.32 lbs pork (thigh slices)
  • 2.8 oz cooked ham
  • 4.2 oz smoked scamorza cheese (sliced)
  • 4 tbsps extra virgin olive oil
  • to taste breadcrumbs
  • 1.5 tsp salt
  • to taste rosemary

What You Need for Baked Pork Rolls

  • 1 Cutting Board
  • Toothpicks
  • 1 Non-Stick Baking Pan
  • 2 Plates

Procedure for Baked Pork Rolls

  • To make this recipe, use pork thigh slices. Since they are quite large, you will need to cut them in half.

  • Alternatively, you can use loin slices. In that case, buy 8, so you get two bundles per person.

  • Place the meat on a cutting board and cut it in half. On each slice, put half a slice of ham and the scamorza cheese sliced.

  • Fold the meat over itself and close it using toothpicks or kitchen twine.

  • Pour the oil into a plate, and place the breadcrumbs in a tray.

  • Pass the meat first in the oil, letting it drip a bit, and then in the breadcrumbs, pressing lightly to make it adhere.

  • When all rolls are ready, place them in a baking tray lined with parchment paper, after adding a bit of oil.

  • Season with salt and rosemary to taste and bake for 20 minutes at 356°F, in a preheated oven.

  • Take the tray out of the oven and serve the baked pork rolls hot, to enjoy the gooey cheese effect.

  • Enjoy your meal!

Notes and Tips

Instead of pork, you can also use beef or chicken.

The rolls can be stored in the fridge for two days in an airtight container and heated a little before consumption.
