  • 24 ladyfingers
  • to taste coffee
  • to taste unsweetened cocoa powder

Tools

  • Food Wraps
  • Spatula
  • Sieve

Steps

  • Place a sheet of food wrap on the work surface. Quickly dip the ladyfingers in cold coffee and arrange them side by side to form a compact rectangle.
In a bowl, work the mascarpone with the hazelnut spread until you get a smooth and homogeneous cream. Spread it evenly over the ladyfingers.
With the help of the wrap, gently roll from the shorter side to form a tight log. Wrap it in the wrap and place it in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
After the resting time, transfer the log to a serving plate. Dust the entire surface with unsweetened cocoa and, with the prongs of a fork, create the classic lines to simulate wood bark.
Decorate as desired with sugar paste elements and serve.

Storage

Store the Yule log in the refrigerator for 2 days, well covered. You can also prepare it the day before.

Tips

Don’t soak the ladyfingers too much to prevent them from breaking.

For a more intense flavor, you can use coffee and barley together.

You can add hazelnut crumbs to the cream for a crunchy touch.
