Winter Fruit Salad

Because usually, fruit salad is associated with summer when there’s more choice at the market stalls. Yet, the winter fruit salad is rich in flavors and tastes. Try it!

Ingredients

  • 2 bananas
  • 2 Williams pears
  • 2 Golden apples
  • 2 navel oranges
  • 2 clementines
  • 3 golden kiwis
  • 1/2 yellow melon
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 150 ml water (or fruit juice)

Steps

  • Peel the bananas and cut them into cubes. Peel the kiwis and cut them into cubes. Peel the oranges and cut them into cubes. Peel the clementines, divide them into segments, and cut each segment in half. Peel the apples, cut them in half, remove the core, divide into segments, and cut each segment into cubes. Peel the pears, cut them in half, remove the core, divide into segments, and cut each segment into cubes. Cut the yellow melon in half, remove the seeds, slice it, remove the skin, and cut each slice into cubes. Transfer all the fruit into a bowl, add the sugar and water, mix well, cover, and place in the refrigerator for a couple of hours to let all the flavors meld.

    The winter fruit salad should be left at room temperature for about an hour before serving at the table.

    If you like, you can add lemon juice or orange juice, especially if there are leftovers, to prevent the fruit from browning.
